Freedom of Information
This website is designed to give as much information as possible about the JAG, its people and its services.
Freedom of Information Act 2000
The Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (the JAG) publishes and responds to requests for information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. To assist you in looking for information, please click here to view the site map for this website.
The JAG’s commitment to publish information excludes any information which can legitimately be withheld under the exemptions set out in the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This means that sometimes not all of the material can be made available for publication or the material made available may be edited. The Freedom of Information Act 2000 has 23 clauses of exemptions. Where individual classes are subject to exemptions, the main reasons are, for example, the protection of commercial interests and personal information under the Data Protection Act 1998. This applies to most Classes within the Publication Scheme.
If the information you require is not accessible on our website or that of another organisation, please click here to contact us. Information can only be processed if you provide, in writing, your name and address.
Rights of Access to Information
In addition to accessing the information identified on the JAG’s website, you are entitled to request information about the JAG under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The Freedom of Information Act recognises that, as a member of the public, you have the right to know how public services such as the NHS are organised and run, how much they cost and how you can make complaints if you need to. You have the right to know which services are being provided, the targets being set, the standards of services expected and the results achieved.
Sometimes information may have to be exempted from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or the Data Protection Act 1998. This means that sometimes not all the information can be made available for publication or the material may be edited.
