The JAG will continue to be accountable to its key stakeholders for all issues related to training. It will be accountable to the health services of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for all certification activities.
In 2010 the JAG will strengthen and formalise its governance arrangements and reporting structures to support its widened remit. The JAG needs to operate under a legal framework for its certification activities. The JAG intends to be recognised as a formal certification body through the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). A legal framework is required if this is to happen.
In 2009 the JAG introduced a new complaints policy for its clients. All complaints and feedback will be recorded and reported to the committee from January.
The JAG will work to the Freedom of Information Act and provide reports and information as required.
Strengthening the JAG’s Governance will ensure better integration of planning, budgeting, performance management and reporting functions.
A new Annual Report to the JAG Committee and key stakeholders will reflect the performance outcomes achieved through each year. The Annual Report will be published and act as a public account of our performance. The first of these reports will be produced in 2010.
