
The QA of Training Working Group is responsible for developing and improving the now established JAG Certification of trainees, including standards for JAG Certification, the process of gathering evidence, and the maintenance of competence. It involves reviewing the quality assurance process for JAG Trainee Certification, and liaison with the Royal Colleges, specialist societies and SACs are core. It has, since 26 May 2011, also taken on the work of setting standards for endoscopist revalidation and recertification begun by the QA of Individuals Working Group.
The QA of Training Working Group advises the JAG Committee on aspects of the quality assurance of trainees and of trainers and their training. It reviews submitted portfolios from trainees, and advises on JAG Certification.
Other tasks include overseeing and maintaining the database of JAG Certified individuals, and ensuring a high quality process for the JAG Certification process.
Finally, this Working Group also advises on training courses.
