The ethos of the JETS (JAG Endoscopy Training System) e-Portfolio is to support trainees in their endoscopic training, to facilitate the formative and summative assessment processes and ensure that trainees receive appropriate quantity and quality of training and has been integrated with the JETS course booking system.
The e-Portfolio is a log book for trainees to record their endoscopic experience and demonstrate their performance, progression and competencies. It supports training episodes by allowing trainers to review a trainee’s development and current learning objectives who can also monitor anonymous feedback provided by trainees and a summary of the training they provided.
The Training Leads have further functions, including being able to monitor the performance of independently practicing trainee endoscopists and review the training received by trainees. The e-Portfolio also supports the dedicated training list allocation meetings and several items of the GRS Standards Training Domain. It is the intention that the e-Portfolio will streamline the JAG Certification process and eventually make the process paper-free.
