One of the JAG’s key strengths is its ability to engage the diversity of knowledge, interests and experience of endoscopy staff working across the United Kingdom. The JAG is known as a national authority on the training of endoscopists receiving many enquiries and providing guidance on many aspects of its remit. The JAG also has a growing reputation in providing Unit Certification.

Many of the JAG’s current policies and processes are being adopted internationally. The JAG receives highly positive reactions to its guidelines for training and is frequently approached for advice on many aspects of supervision of endoscopy.

With this in mind the JAG have developed various policy and strategy documents to outline what we consider best practice in areas such as JAG Visits for Unit Certification, Complaints and Communications.

The JAG Committee are currently in the process of reviewing all of its policies and strategies. This process takes place annually to ensure all documents are kept up-to-date with latest guidelines and procedures.

The documents that have been made available in this section have been fully reviewed and signed off by the Committee. The policies and strategies that are currently under review or being developed will be made available in this section in due course.

Complaints Policy
The JAG Complaints Policy covers all complaints to or about the JAG and sets out the stages a complaint will go through, the timescales involved and who should be involved in handling the complaint. The complaints procedure aims to create a positive approach to complaints.

Communications and Engagement Strategy
The JAG has a Communication and Engagement Strategy to ensure clear and consistent communication with its sponsors and key stakeholders.

These guidelines have been developed to outline the role and responsibilities of an Assessor during a JAG Visit.
