Introduction of follow-up actions
28 May 2026

From 1 June 2026, JAG is introducing a new feature within the assessment process - follow-up actions.

Follow-up actions are designed to highlight areas where improvement is needed but do not prevent a service from achieving or maintaining accreditation, at the time of being identified. They provide a clearer, more structured way to track progress between assessments.

If your service is given a follow-up action, you will still be accredited, but you will be expected to address the issue and provide evidence at your next annual review or site assessment.

Assessors will use follow-up actions only where a service meets the overall threshold for accreditation and there are a small number of improvements required. These actions are intended to be realistic and achievable within a one-year timeframe. If a follow-up action is not completed by the next assessment, it will be escalated.

You may begin to see follow-up actions from June onwards. For further information or questions, please contact our team.

Please read carefully and take any action requested - this message will not be shown the next time you log in
