What do you like most about JAG?
Working with amazing colleagues interested in improving the quality of endoscopy.
What are you looking forward to at BSG?
Seeing the latest developments in endoscopy and how NED data is contributing to this progress.
Do you have any hobbies?
It’s summer, so it`s all about cricket.

David Beaton
What is your role?
I am a consultant gastroenterologist in Northumbria NHS foundation trust, working mainly in endoscopy and IBD.
What do you like most about JAG?
I most enjoy working with the team, where everyone seems to pull in the same direction. It is exciting to be part of a world leading service and play a part in delivering changes to improve endoscopy.
What are you looking forward to at BSG?
I'm most looking forward to meeting up with friends who I have not been able to see for a while. I am also looking forward to being back in Glasgow, I lived for a year and still have lots of friends and family living there.
Do you have any hobbies?
My main other hobbies are football - playing and watching.

Keith Pohl
What is your role?
I am in a two-year post as a JAG Clinical Fellow. I conduct quality improvement research, predominantly using NED data.
What do you like most about JAG?
What I like most is that it is a multi-disciplinary group who all share the same aim of getting the most out of endoscopy.
What are you looking forward to at BSG? I am looking forward to meeting new people, the endo village and brushing up on areas where my knowledge and experience are weaker!
Do you have any hobbies? When I'm not wrangling two small children, I enjoy rock climbing and playing tennis. I also have a music degree although at the moment that mainly involves playing the Paddington theme tune on repeat on the piano to my son.

Jamie Barbour
What is your role: I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead. I am the Federation of Training Centre Lead.
What do you like most about JAG? I like that JAG has a mandate to continually set standards. This leads to improved quality on a continuous basis.
What are you looking forward to at BSG? I am looking forward to meeting other regional trainer centre leads and Academy leads to get to know them and to learn from them what works for their centres and what could be improved.
Do you have any hobbies? My hobbies are running, cycling and sea swimming.

Mark Donnelly
What is your role? Chair of BCSP Accreditation Panel.
What do you like most about JAG? Like-minded people working together to drive endoscopy standards upwards.
What are you looking forward to at BSG? 3 nights in Glasgow....more seriously, the biggest and best Endo village ever!
Do you have any hobbies? The mighty toffees - Nil Satis Nisi Optimum.
