
Paul Collins is a consultant gastroenterologist at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. He is a luminal gastroenterologist with an interest in inflammatory bowel disease and rare hereditary GI polyposis syndromes.
He has a strong interest in medical education and has previously been the training programme director for gastroenterology for the Mersey scenery. In this role, Paul was a member of the JRCPTB Specialist Advisory Committee for Gastroenterology and a member of the The British Society Of Gastroenterology (BSG) Training Committee.
Paul was appointed as the director of the Mersey School of Endoscopy in 2020. Since its formation in 2022, he has been the operational lead for the North West Endoscopy Academy. Within this role, he has been proud to be part of a large team that have been able to focus on improving the delivery of training and education for the whole of the endoscopy workforce in the North West.
Paul is looking forward to the challenges of his role with the JAG Federation of training centres and working with the other members of the committee, the regional training centres and the JAG team to support the further development of our activities.
