We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mark Coleman as the new Chair of JAG, with effect from 1 January 2020 when the current Chair, Dr Siwan Thomas-Gibson, demits.
 
Mark is a consultant colorectal surgeon based at University Hospitals Plymouth, and has a particular interest in laparoscopic GI surgery. Mark has a global reputation and a wealth of experience in surgical training and assessment, having been lead clinician for the Lapco national training programme for laparoscopic colorectal surgery for five years. He has worked as a clinical director for colorectal surgery and theatres in Plymouth and set up Bowel Cancer West, a charity dedicated to supporting improved awareness and care for people with bowel cancer in the west of England and Wales. He has previously served on the Executive Council of the Association of Coloproctologists of Great Britain and Ireland. We look forward to JAG’s continued successes in the future under Mark’s direction.
